Home appliance installation certification
is achieved by studying a series of courses, and followed by a series of tests.
This appliance installation certification must be limited because there can be no hands-on instruction.
While the technical knowledge is very useful, the practical aspects of this appliance installation certification
must be obtained before the process can be completed. It is necessary that you also
go through training in a group setting or personal presentation within twelve months
of completing the online training course.

Appliance installation certification consists of specialized training in six areas:
refrigerationFree Standing, Built-in, Under-the-counter
LaundryWasher, Dryer, Stack units, Propane Conversions
DishwasherDomestic, Import
VentilationWall, Chimney, Island, Downdraft, Remote Blowers
CookwareCooktops, Wall Ovens, Drop-in, Slide-In, Free Standing Ranges, Over the Range Microwaves,Propane Conversions
Specialty itemsCoffee Systems, Entertainment Centers
Each category includes extensive and comprehensive training, using online resources
or personal presentation. Hands-on presentations are preferred, and are included
with the presentation style of teaching, where available.
Each category consists of product knowledge, home appliance installation preferences of manufacturer,and demonstrations of common home appliance installations. Time is also spent dealing with known home appliance installation issues that have accompanied certain products.
Each category will be followed with testing to determine satisfactory completion
of that category. Home appliance installation certification will be awarded only after the successful
completion of ALL categories. Complete appliance installation certification will follow the successful
completion of the practical application portion of the training.
All certified appliance installers will adhere to an associational code of ethics, agreeing
to perform according to
the ethical guidelines as set forth by the association.
